CAN looks to a strong and lasting relationship with both Romanian authorities and NGO members alike so we can all work together in harmony to bring real support to those in need in Brasov county. In order to achieve this and to ensure our mission and values will be observed, we will expect all our employees and volunteers to abide by the following code of conduct:
General
- We will work within an atmosphere of open communication
- We will be accountable to the Board of CAN providing their actions are legal.
- We will be accountable under Romania law and to Romanian Authorities
- We will uphold a model of honesty, acceptance, dedication and integrity
- We will work and communicate with an attitude of respect and willingness to resolve problems in a professional way
- We will not accept any form of discrimination
Relating to NGOs.
- We will provide services as stated on canbv.ro to our members
- We will maintain confidentiality towards all NGOs and staff
- We will not work with minor volunteers and accept no responsibility for any NGO that may work with minors.
- We will distribute and manage all funds and donations according to their designated purpose
- We will not at any time show favouritism for a specific NGO
Relating to Public Institutions.
- We will abide by Romanian law at all times
- We will not employ or work with any person who has a criminal record, or accept any responsibility for any NGO member that undertakes such action.
- We will adhere to the Rights of the Child according to the UN convention
- We will not have defamatory articles or photographs of children in unfortunate conditions printed in the press.
- We are willing to attend any press conferences the authorities invite CAN to and can speak at such and in return offer them the same rights and invitation at our CAN conferences.
Code of Conduct for NGOs registered with CAN
1. We will expect NGO members to abide by Romanian laws.
2. We will expect NGO members to show professionalism at all times.
3. We will expect member NGOs not to discriminate against any member or members of the community.
4. We will expect member NGOs at all times to adhere to the Rights of the Child according to the UN convention
5. We will expect member NGOs not to have defamatory articles or photographs of children in unfortunate conditions printed in the press
6. We will expect cooperation in resolving NGO problems in a civil and organised manner.
7. We will expect NGO members to show an active interest in CAN.
