ONG-urile invita cetatenii sa contribuie ls o "buna guvernare"

Governmental authorities, public and private institutions must introduce all elements of good governance - rule of law, transparency, collective and individual liability - as well as initiative, in the decision making process, British Ambassador to Bucharest Robin Barnett stated Wednesday, at the official launch of a web side dedicated to good governance,

The page was created in the project titled “Partnership for good governance,” funded by USAID through World Learning in the Romanian Civil Society Consolidation Programme.

The project “Partnership for good governance,” implemented by Pro Democratia Association, the Press Monitoring Agency and the Public Participation Resource Centre is aimed at strengthening the capacity of the “Consortium for good governance” (APD, AMP, CeRe) to implement projects targeted at improving he quality of local governance and to assist NGOs and the local administration in implementing similar projects.

Back in UK good governance is a principle taken quite seriously and applied from grassroots to top levels, the British Ambassador to Bucharest emphasised, who hosted the event at his official residence. The web page also includes a list of parameters against which good governance can me measured in an institution, in line with several core principles: information, consultation and participation, transparency and administrative efficiency. On this occasion, the British Embassy also posted on its own home page, at, an online contest on good governance.
